Tips for Timeless and Unforgettable Portraits
Children photograph best in colors that are soft and muted. Patterns, words and logos will distract from their delicate features and take precedence over their precious faces and features. Solid colors and whites/pastels will make the child stand out and not the clothing.

If you are having more than one child photographed and they will be in the picture together, then it is best to have their outfits coordinate. Matching clothing creates a sense of harmony and balance and makes the portrait more pleasing to the eye. The attention is taken off the clothes and the eye is drawn to the faces.

When doing group photos, the best approach is to color coordinate and if possible try to "uniform" everyone. Solid black, white or shirts of the same color with khaki pants are great because it seems to be a staple of most wardrobes. If in doubt about any outfit or choice, don’t hesitate to call and ask. I will be delighted to discuss what I feel would photograph best. Feel free to select from my inventory of props and clothing, or bring your own.
